​​​​​​​LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Participants will refresh and reinforce knowledge about the differences between omega-6 fatty acids and omega-3 fatty acids, identifying best sources and the concept of "essential" nutrients.
  • Participants will understand and be able to enumerate many benefits to the mind and body of the long chain omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, appreciate potential concerns with their use and how to incorporate them into an overall healthcare management plan.
  • Participants will learn about a blood test to measure the level of omega-3 fatty acids in red blood cell membranes and how to utilize that information to modify and monitor levels towards supporting the optimal health of multiple body systems
