Session 1: Improving Canine Mobility Through Fascia Part 2

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Faculty: Dr. Wendy Coren

This session will cover understanding mechanoreceptors and how their effect on fascial techniques.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Able to understand and explain the 4 major mechorecptors in Fascia
  2. Why using fascial tools can improve patient outcomes 
  3. Specific taping/ tooling techniques to address propriocetion pain and inflammation 

Session 2: Clinical Pearls and Case Studies

7:30 PM - 8:30 PM

This course provides a review of cranial nerves, an associated cranial nerve exam, and an easy neurological exam you can perform on patients that will help you detect potential disorders associated with findings.  We will then go through a series of case studies to review different chiropractic conditions (not all neurological) that we as clinicians may encounter in our practice.  We welcome interactions of the case studies so that we can generate collaborative ways to manage our patients.   

Learning Objectives:

  1. Detect potential neurological disorders that may be serious and warrant a referral to a veterinary specialist. 
  2. Learn an easy neurological exam to perform on patients
  3. Collaborate on cases in order to enhance management of patient conditions on a day to day basis.

Married to her partner in work and life Dr David Lundquist. An equestrian amateur all her life Dr. Coren has combined her love of horses with healthcare, fitness, and performance practices.

 

Following a degree in biology from Franklin and Marshall College, Coren received her Doctor of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 1980. She is certified in multiple animal methodologies including certifications form the AVCA (American Veterinary Chiropractic), IVCA (International Veterinary Chiropractic Association), and VOM. She is a regular instructor in kinesiology taping and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) as a means to improving structure and function for canine and equine populations.

  

Currently residing in Florida, Dr. Coren travels the world teaching, coaching, learning, and aligning equestrian and canine athletes. When not working, she can be found riding her own horses or romping with dogs at the beach.

 

She is the mother of two accomplished professionals Dustin Coren, DVM and Casey Coren, MA.
