This radiology case study lecture will emphasize plain film correlation with clinical findings and indications for ordering follow up advanced imaging, if any. Emphasis is made on how the imaging affects patient management, including different treatment options and possible outside referrals, when indicated.

Title: Interventional Pain Medicine and Rayus Pain Care: Who and when to refer
Course Description:
This is an overview of the interventional and pain medicine specialty and how a multidisciplinary approach to treating pain is very beneficial to patients recovery after injury or episodic pain. We will discuss the differences in acute, subacute, and chronic pain. We will focus on the three primary ways to treat patients with pain including multiple therapies, medications, and interventions. We will briefly discuss more advanced procedures/interventions, and more invasive treatments available, and what we currently are able to offer patients who may be struggling to manage their pain. Lastly, we will discuss when is the most appropriate time to refer a patient to an interventional pain medicine physician.
