MCA Legislative Day Session 1

Please Note: MCA is hosting three briefing sessions on February 25. These sessions will cover the same information. Please register for only one session.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the work of the Minnesota Legislature will continue to be conducted remotely and the capitol complex remains closed to the public – so we are taking our lobby day virtual! 

We have scheduled three virtual legislative briefing sessions with MCA’s Government Affairs team on February 25th and are asking all chiropractors in Minnesota to partake in the grassroots efforts. After all, you can do it from the comfort of your own desk! 

Session Agenda:

1. Brief welcome by MCA President, Dr. Vince Pankonin

2. Role of the MCA Legislative Committee, Dr. Doug Broman 

3. Advocacy during the 2021 Legislative session, Dr. Chuck Sawyer

4. Session update and MCA legislative priorities

5. Questions and closing remarks, Dr. Sawyer

This session, there are two bills of major interest that provide the opportunity for doctors to contact their lawmakers asking for support.  

1. HF 477 – Reintroduced by Rep. Erin Koegel - will modify and expand coverage for chiropractic services in the medical assistance and MinnesotaCare public insurance programs 

2. HF 319 - Introduced by Rep. Jordan Rasmusson – new bill which includes the use of telemedicine services by chiropractic doctors and reorganizes the animal chiropractic sections in our practice act
