Objectives:
- Identify the key clinical signs and symptoms of lumbar and cervical herniations to aid in accurate diagnosis and timely intervention.
- Understand the anatomical basis and pathophysiology of herniated discs in both the lumbar and cervical spine, including how they impact nerve function and contribute to pain.
- Distinguish between conservative management options and surgical interventions for herniated discs, highlighting when surgery is indicated and how chiropractic care can complement non-surgical treatment.
- Evaluate diagnostic tools (MRI, CT scans, and clinical exams) to assess disc herniations and identify the most appropriate treatment plan based on radiographic and clinical findings.
- Develop effective communication strategies for collaborative care with spine surgeons, ensuring patients receive comprehensive treatment that integrates both surgical and non-surgical approaches.
