This session will help participants understand the pathophysiology of a concussion, what role nutrition and diet can play in recovering from a concussion, and what supplements may be helpful in speeding recovery.
Note: This course is not currently approved for CE credits.
Dr. Flatgard was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. After serving eight years in the Army National Guard as a communications specialist, she earned her BS in Nutrition & Dietetics from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Flatgard went on to receive her Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University (NWHSU). She is the current Sports Nutrition Fellow at the Human performance center at NWHSU, providing nutrition counseling and chiropractic care to athletes all over Minnesota, along with mentoring and teaching several future chiropractors in active and sports care.
In addition to her Sports Nutrition fellowship, Dr. Flatgard also owns a practice in St. Louis Park, MN, where she specializes in soft tissue treatment & nutrition supplementation. She is a full-body certified ART (Active Release Technology) & Graston Technique provider, and a Level 1 Precision Nutrition Coach. She is currently working to obtain her CCSP (Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician) certification and M.S in Exercise Science.
