Tongue Tie Assessment and Evaluation for the Chiropractor

This webinar is designed to assist Doctors of Chiropractic assess and evaluate tongue tie in the infant population. This seems to be an increasingly common phenomenon. Many medical professionals have limited knowledge of the subject matter and doctors of chiropractic might be the first line of defense for infants with tongue tie. Knowing when to refer is key. 

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

1. Have a better understanding of the biomechanical mechanisms around tongue tie.
2. Identify common symptoms of tongue tie in infants.
3. Perform a preliminary screening for tongue tie.
4. Find resources and providers for proper follow up.

About the Presenter

Dr. Sara Cuperus graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in November 2002 and opened the doors of Chiropractic Performance Center, PA shortly after in January 2003. She is a specialist in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care-one of very few in the St. Cloud area. After completing additional training, she earned pediatric certification through the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice and the Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics.

With a background in athletic training, over 20 years of sports injury experience, and training in Graston Technique®, Dr. Sara is also one of the area's leading providers for athletic performance and injuries. In the summer of 2009 and 2013 Dr. Sara interned at the United States Olympic Training Center and treated athletes training in a variety of sports.

Dr. Sara is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified in Pediatric Chiropractic, Webster Technique, Graston Technique®, and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician. She has been an instructor with Graston Technique® since 2013 and has taught post-secondary college classes as well.
