Cassie Engamnn DVM
Behavioral Medicine Service at VCA Animal Wellness Center
Dr. Engmann received a Bachelor of Science degree from North Dakota State University in 1997, and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2002 from Iowa State University. After graduation, Dr. Engmann elected to pursue further training and was chosen for an internship at a large emergency and referral hospital in western Massachusetts. Following that year of intense surgical and clinical practice, she elected to stay in Massachusetts and took a position working as an Emergency Clinician at a Referral/Specialty hospital in a suburb of Boston. In 2007, she relocated to Minnesota to pursue the long term connections with both client and patient that general practice allows.
Throughout her career, Dr. Engmann has had a special interest in veterinary behavior and has experience treating many different canine behavioral disorders. She was a participant in the NAVC Institute Applied Clinical Behavioral Medicine course in 2016 and 2017, as well as the Advanced Behavioral Medicine course in 2019. She was the sole practitioner running the Behavioral Medicine Service at VCA Animal Wellness Center, seeing her own hospital’s behavior cases, as well as behavior cases referred from nearby practices and behavioral trainers, until her departure in 2020 to pursue behavior consulting full time through Engmann Veterinary Behavior Consulting, PLLC. Additionally, Dr. Engmann is certified in Sophia Yin’s Low Stress Handling as well as a Free Certified Professional.
