Osteoporosis is the most common metabolic bone disease. It’s been estimated that 50% of women and 25% of men over age 50 will fracture due to osteoporosis during their lifetime. These injuries are associated with a downward spiral in health, disability, institutionalization, and markedly elevated mortality rates.
In general, pelvic pain in females is rather common in that approximately 14% will experience chronic pelvic pain once in their lifetime. Pelvic pain can have significant impact on a patient’s quality of life and many times when presenting to a chiropractor’s office they have been to many other provider’s seeking relief from their symptoms. This course is designed to investigate different types of chronic pelvic pain seen in the female patient population. In addition, demonstrate assessment and treatment options for the practitioner as well as discuss an integrative model of care for pelvic pain.
